This is not just any MGB GT. This is a factory MGB GT V8, identified by its GD2D1 factory V8 chassis number. Originally built during MG’s rare factory V8 era, this car has since been taken to another level with a powerful 4.3-litre fuel-injected V8, Emerald engine management, and approximately 279–280 bhp. Production ran from 1973–1976, with just 2,591 factory MGB GT V8s built and only around 736 currently licensed on UK roads today.

The result is a classic MG with the looks and charm of the 1970s, but with genuinely exciting performance.

It has the classic chrome-bumper MGB GT shape, the soundtrack of a V8, and the sort of performance that makes it feel far more modern than its age suggests. Designed by Pininfarina and based on the MGB Roadster. And while Pininfarina is most famous for designing Ferraris, it’s widely accepted that this is the best design they ever did that wasn’t a Ferrari: elegant, purposeful, and one of the great British coupé silhouettes.
